I'm sorry for the negative comments that people make. I am a staunch supporter of prop 8, I believe that marriage should legally be defined as the union of one man and one woman. That said, I really love the fact that you were called to the bishopric. I think it's important that people, especially in the church, not feel marginalized for having attractions to the same sex. We can't choose our weaknesses, but we can choose how we handle them. And I think we need more public examples of those who have chosen to keep the commandments and follow the Lord, even in the face of daunting weaknesses. We need more examples that the atonement works and that it's real. We need more examples of what it means to be truly happy. My favorite thing about your story is that the Lord chooses his leaders. Sometimes those chosen are the most surprised. But if we put our trust in Him, He puts His trust in us. I love Him for that. Thank you for reminding me of God's infinite mercy in my own life. I'm in Utah, but I fully sustain and support you. I believe you've been precisely chosen for such a time as this.buffy snellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13969084273856638241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5835564038959249094.post-6199748998424219572011-08-30T18:15:48.276-07:002011-08-30T18:15:48.276-07:00I was the Executive Sec. in the Bay Ward in the &#...I was the Executive Sec. in the Bay Ward in the '80's- a happy time. That's a big piece of this straight ally's motivation.

We are very much on the same page with otherizing and equality. Where did you get that idea and language? If the bystanders are silent, the bullying continues. Bystanders need to object if they see mistreatment. I am happy that some are seeing the mistreatment and speaking up.Sherrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09210593318824305042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5835564038959249094.post-70686551460334957142011-03-29T19:17:44.269-07:002011-03-29T19:17:44.269-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Jackiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06880191167345489872noreply@blogger.com
